There is still some interest in the idea of another Welcome Home Festival for Currane in 2007. There will probably be a meeting either over St Patrick’s Weekend or Easter. Details of the meeting will be posted here. In the meantime, if you are in favour of another festival, or indeed have anything to say on the subject, please let us know.

Time for another Welcome Home Festival?
We all enjoyed the Welcome Home Festival in 2003 didn’t we? It will be etched in the memories of many Currane people for a long time to come. Now it’s time to start planning another one.
Planning for the 2003 Festival was started way in advance of the occasion and the Festival was such a success because of the careful planning and hard work of the committee. If there is to be another Welcome Home Festival in 2007, planning will need to start shortly.
There will be a meeting at our Community Centre, Glór na dTonn on December 27th at 3.00pm. If you enjoyed the last Festival, please try to attend and show support for the next one. Attendance at the meeting does not mean you will be forced onto a committee!

Patch Madden
Named in honour of the legendary Madden family dog, www.patchmadden.com is the family web site. Set up by Allan McAdam, the site includes photo galleries which will be of interest to anybody with a connection to Currane. The site also includes a link to www.futureleds.com, Allan’s own business, selling long lasting, environmentally friendly and ecconomical LED lighting solutions.
The George web site
The George finally has it’s own web site including a picture gallery. It can be found at: www.corraunhouse.com/thegeorge.html.
Remember, we are happy to include information about any local business on Currane.net. Just speak to Jane or email her here.

Images of the past
Ju Ju Anderson has kindly decided to share her photographs of life at Corraun House in the 1930’s with us. Ju Ju is the daughter of William and Annie Anderson. William was once the gardener at Corraun House when it was still owned by the Dickens family.
A wind farm update
At the community meeting that took place earlier this year, a number of questions were addressed. I’m still waiting for the answers given to those questions. When I have them I will post them here.
